Test Driven Django

Test-Driven Web Development with Python

I've been through the first 6 or 7 chapters of this tutorial twice now.  It does a great job of giving you a sense of the rhythm involved with Test Driven Development (TDD) in a python/django setting.  I'm looking forward to going through it again once it gets a little more complete.

I find the deployment chapter particularly difficult since it seems I can never really recreate the development environment described.

Adding MySQL to Django Site Running on Python 3.x

Well, you can't do it.  There currently are no MySql drivers for django running on python3.  You'll find lots of old posts on the internet about adding entries to your path, etc.  None of them will work right now with python3.

I wound up dropping MySQL and switched to PostgreSQL. That seems to work fine.  Note that you will have a different port that you will need to set up in setting.py.  My port is 5432.

Good Luck!
